Enjoy the festivals on the Costa del Sol
There is no better way to get to know Andalucia than through the fascinating cultural festivals. The local fiesta is when every town and village puts on a splendid show and experience.

Over 2000 fiestas are celebrated every year including fairs, pilgrimages, carnivals and religious processions. Each town and village has at least one patron saint and the processions follow in their name.

One of the most exciting events are the summer fairs and ferias that take place in every town from Seville in April through to all the towns along the Costa del Sol and ending in San Pedro de Alcántara in mid October.

A beautiful tradition for these fairs is the authentic dresses and costumes worn by both women and men.

The 'day fair' of the feria traditionally takes place in the streets of the town itself. Tables and chairs are set up and the bars serve food and drink in the street with music playing on every corner.

At night, the fair shifts to the public fairground where a traditional amusement park with lots of rides for the children is set up along with various tents or stalls providing live entertainment.

The Costa del Sol is known for its traditions and charm, for locals and visitors alike.
